Phula

The Phula people of Vietnam worship their ancestors and are animists. In every Phula home, the most sacred room is a central area that contains an altar and "spirit door," which is used to worship their ancestors. Pray that the Phula will turn away from worshiping their ancestors and false gods and that they will hunger and thirst after God alone.

Pray for the Phula

Use the requests, prayers, and Scripture below to guide your prayers for the Phula over the next week.

Monday

Ask God to send out laborers among the Phula so that all the Phula will have an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

O God, open a door for the message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ to the Phula. I have opened my eyes and looked at the fields. They are ripe for harvest. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Lord of the harvest, send out workers into Your harvest field. (Colossians 4:3; John 4:35; Matthew 9:37-38)

Tuesday

Ask God to strengthen the few Phula believers. Pray that they will be bold in sharing their faith and that their family and friends will be open to the Gospel.

I pray the Phula believers would not be afraid, for You are with them; You will bring their children from the east and gather them from the west. You will say to the north, “Give them up!” and to the south, “Do not hold them back.” (Isaiah 43:5-6)

Wednesday

Ask God to protect the Phula believers as they meet together to worship Him. Pray that they will walk closely with the Lord and that their lives will reflect Jesus Christ.

Lord, build up the Phula, gather them, heal their broken hearts, bind up their wounds and cure their pain and their sorrows. Father, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 147:2-6 AMP; 34:18)

Thursday

Pray that many Phula will listen and understand Christian short-wave radio broadcasts in the Vietnamese language.

Glorious Father, give the Phula the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the deep, intimate, full knowledge of You. May the eyes of the Phula people’s hearts be flooded with light, so that they can know and understand the hope to which You have called them. May the Phula know how rich Your glorious inheritance is in the saints. I pray that they can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of Your power for us who believe. (Ephesians 1:17-19 AMP)

Friday

Ask God to raise up a Phula church planter among Phula believers. Pray that he will be burdened to see the gospel spread among the Phula in Vietnam.

Father, may the Phula come and bow down and worship and kneel before You their Maker, for You are their God and they are the people of Your pasture, the flock under Your care. May the Phula hear Your voice today and not harden their hearts. (Psalm 95:6-8)

Saturday

Pray that the Phula will recognize the false teachings of other religions around them. Ask God to strengthen the few Christians among the Phula so they will remain faithful to Christ.

Lord, I say to the Phula, “Be strong, do not fear: your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.” To the captives, I say, “Come out,” and to those in darkness, “Be Free!” (Isaiah 35:4; 49:9)

Sunday

Pray that there will soon be a church in every Phula village in northern Vietnam!

I pray that all the Phula You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord, and that they will bring glory to Your name. For You are great and do marvelous deeds. You alone are God. (Psalm 86:9-10)
